FUN FACTS ABOUT ME

MY HUSBAND CRAWFORD HELPED ME LIST A FEW THINGS - WHAT I LOVE, WHAT I DON'T LOVE, AND A LITTLE BIT OF WHAT I FIND INSPIRING.

  • I’ve been vegetarian since 7th grade because I can’t imagine eating animals!

  • I am concerned about not creating waste in the world (I do not over produce, I would rather order fabrics in small increments, even when it doesn’t make monetary sense) I’m all about saving water, using paper towels/toilet paper made from bamboo. Basically, I’ve been living this way since before it was trendy, it’s truly a philosophy by which I live my life in and outside of work.

  • I have a Masters Degree in Special Education because I wanted to help kids with special needs. The paperwork involved with being a teacher ended up not being my thing, but working with kids is something I love.

  • I started making clothes as a little girl and I even made my own prom dress.

  • I moved to Cali in 2007 and studied under private teacher to learn the fashion trade.

  • I constantly draw, paint, write. I love the freedom of creative expression.

  • I spent a number of summers in Paris when I was young and it sparked my love of dressing up.

  • I’m really not into self-promotion (hence my husband helping me with this list!).

  • I try to incorporate these ‘pieces of me’ in my brand…I want it to be personal and reflect my values. Every stage of the design process is done in LA by small mom & pop shops that I’ve worked with for years. Almost all fabrics are sourced from mills overseas (Japan, Italy, Hungary, Turkey) that have been around for a long time. I also love to use fabrics already in existence when I can (deadstock) so that I am not adding more waste into the world. This is also why many of the pieces have limited quantities.
